What we collect and why

  • Contact form and emails sent to asiaindie.com: name (optional), email address, message and any URL you provide. Used to reply to you and for editorial work, such as checking a submission or correction.
  • Newsletter: email address, language, and the time and wording of your consent. Used only to send the Weekly Scout and the confirmation email.
  • Abuse prevention: when you submit a form we keep a hash derived from your IP address (rotated daily and not reversible) to limit bulk submissions.
  • Analytics: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and does not track individuals; it only counts page views and popular pages.

We do not sell or rent personal data or use it for advertising. Data is stored on Cloudflare’s services.

Retention

Contact and submission messages are kept for up to two years after we handle them. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe, and the email address is deleted within 30 days after that.

Cookie

We use one functional cookie: when you pick a language in the footer, we remember it (named lang, kept for one year). There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Third-party services

Cloudflare provides hosting, delivery, email handling and analytics, and processes connection data such as IP addresses for security and operation. Game images load directly from Steam’s (Valve’s) image servers.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete the data we hold about you by emailing hello@asiaindie.com. We follow the principles of Japan’s APPI, Taiwan’s Personal Data Protection Act, Hong Kong’s PDPO and Singapore’s PDPA.
